The news that everyone is waiting for - Kai Xin is discharging TODAY!!!

The hospital is processing the procedure at the moment and Kai Xin should be out of the hospital very soon.

Kai Xin and Huey Jing will remain in Singapore for a period in case Kai Xin has fever or any issues, she can be readmitted to NUH in the shortest time possible for treatment as she still has a bile drain bag attached to her which will be removed after a month. Eric will be there until after the first followup, then he'll be back to work in KL.

We've just received some pics of Kai Xin and her parents hot off the mailbox. Kai Xin's progressing well with increased amount of feeds. She weighed 5.8kg after the second operation and today she's 5.8kg. Her abdomen has gotten smaller from 56cm to 42cm.

We hope Kai Xin's smile will bring you some cheers and we must be strong like her to face our daily challenges.

I just got the latest news today that Kai Xin was supposed to be discharged last Fri but she had developed a fever hence had to stay on for observation and some tests. They can't find what caused the fever but at least her fever has been brought down.

Let's just pray she'll pull through and will be discharged this week.

There were fluid detected in Kai Xin's liver which the surgical team suspected that the small intestine which connected to liver to drain out the bile might be too small. Hence, the operation was conducted yesterday from 3pm - 8.20pm. The surgical team had drained the fluid and there is an infection which is luckily in a way being detected early. They have reconnected the small intestine with bile duct. Everything should be fine by now.

As much as we would love to update here as often as possible but it's pretty impossible to do this on a daily basis. We're taking it from Eric that no news is good news.

As of now, Huey Jing is recuperating away from the hospital. She is being taken care of by her mother in their relative home in Singapore. The most she could do now is taking slow walk and movement. She only gets to visit Kai Xin about 2 to 3 times a week.

Eric is 24x7 in the hospital and have never left the hospital since the transplant. He's constantly checking on Kai Xin through the day even at night, even though the nurses have told him to go back to have some rest but for the love of his daughter... he's always there for Kai Xin. When he's not observing her, he's constantly chanting and praying for their speedy recovery. So there is not much time he can go online and send us long updates. Hope you'll understand their predicaments.

We thank you for all your support and prayers.

We have received Eric's sms this morning and here's the summarise version:

Scans and tests were conducted on Kai Xin and one of the blood test result is still abnormal. The surgical team has identified the problem (which is related to bile duct) and Kai Xin is going in for an operation today to correct this.

This operation will be less complicated than before, nevertheless your support and prayers will be much appreciated. Thank you.
