We've just received some pics of Kai Xin and her parents hot off the mailbox. Kai Xin's progressing well with increased amount of feeds. She weighed 5.8kg after the second operation and today she's 5.8kg. I just got the latest news today that Kai Xin was supposed to be discharged last Fri but she had developed a fever hence had to stay on for observation and some tests. There were fluid detected in Kai Xin's liver which the surgical team suspected that the small intestine which connected to liver to drain out the bile might be too small. Hence, the operation was conducted yesterday from 3pm - 8.20pm. The surgical team had drained the fluid and there is an infection which is luckily in a way being detected early. They have reconnected the small intestine with bile duct. Everything should be fine...
